Redeem + Mutiny Pioneer Launch Party

Lori Parkerson, the owner of Redeem, knows how to put together interesting events. The previous Redeem event still lingers in our heads as one of the best events we’ve ever attended in Washington DC; The Redeem + Mutiny Pioneer launch event was just as good.

Mutiny is a curated grouping of objects (typically vintage or antique but not always)  around a theme, by local artist M. Gert Barkovic. Over the past year, Mutiny has taken on different guises or themes. The lastest theme is Pioneer - What makes Mutiny Pioneer so exceptional is its execution. Much more than a display of curiosities, Pioneer is a deep immersive experience, history washes over you. The eclectic collection of objects constantly surprises, from writing materials to antique books and vintage boots. As a history nerd this display is like a trap meant to snare my attention; I quickly forget where I am as I leaf through the pages of old books or stare at vintage tools. Pioneer is precisely the type of intellectual art meets commerce that DC does better than perhaps any other city in the world.

The Pioneer theme was perfectly complimented by members of Chesapeake, VA musical group Bison. Normally a seven person ensemble, four members of the group captivated the crowd with pared-down versions of their folksy music.

We recommend following Redeem and Mutiny on Facebook for future events, these happenings are not to be missed.

A New Cross for Redeem - Fall Winter 2011

When we were asked to help host Redeem’s Fifth Year Anniversary party we didn’t hesitate to say yes. We were especially excited when we learned an exclusive collection from Colombian line “A New Cross” would be featured. There is so much to love about the unique designs of Nicolás Rivero and David Angel - the unisex styles, innovative & avant-garde silhouettes and handmade details of the collection are all exceptional (available only at Redeem). See our pictures of one of the best fashion presentations to ever be featured in DC (more pictures of the unforgettable evening coming soon):

Redeem 5 Year Anniversary

We are so excited to share with you an event we are extremely honored to host. If you haven’t been to Redeem, one of the coolest boutiques in our city, this is your opportunity to experience all it has to offer and here is why:

  • On Saturday October 15th at 6:30pm, Redeem will celebrate its first 5 years in Washington DC with an exclusive presentation of the art-inspired fashion label A New Cross (it’s going to be amazing).
  • After the presentation the models will mingle with the crowd, giving attendees the opportunity to see the designs up close.
  • Guests will have a unique chance to meet the designers, Nicolás Rivero and David Angel, who traveled all the way from Bogotá, Colombia just for the event.
  • Music will be brought to you by DJ’s John and Paul Thornley from the hottest and best DC-band, U.S. Royalty.
  • Duvel, one of the best Belgian beers, will provide refreshments.

We can’t wait for this party - it will be one of the most interesting and uncommon events held in recent memory. We would love to see you there among the most fashionable and creative people in Washington DC!

The event is FREE with RSVP so make sure you go HERE and register!

Check back here throughout the week to catch sneak peeks of the A New Cross collection and the preparation for this event.
