Old Friends and Style Moments at The WW Club

Last night Kate Warren of Go Kate Shoot and Elise Peterson of It’s Vintage Darling threw a great party at The Water Street Project. Live music (salsa!), performances, and great drinks. We were delighted to see so many friends!

neon V magazine online and social media launch

I first met Kimee Brown at a DC fashion/art show in a warehouse last summer. I loved what she was wearing: a Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s t-shirt before it was released to the public. Since then, Kimee has never looked the same twice; her diverse, eclectic, and thoughtful style is a testament to her effervescent personality.

When she approached me a few weeks ago to create a short film to commemorate the online and social media launch of neon V, I was immediately excited. Neon V is a magazine founded by five women, three of which I was already well acquainted with: Kimee, Stephanie Mills and Michelle German, plus Tanekeya Word and Carmela Wingfield. I love taking photographs of Stephanie because she is incredibly photogenic, creative and positive. Michelle, has always surprised and delighted with her fashion, and most notably with her makeup.

This film was shot by me in one night last week and is based on a concept developed by the ladies of neon V. I had so much fun scouting locations and during filming. These ladies broke into spontaneous coordinated song and/or dance numerous times and generally pervaded the entire undertaking with positivity and love. It shows in the end result: this is a film that I am very proud of. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Tweed Ride Photo Shoot
TPWP is always excited when DC creatives join forces. In the case of the Tweed Ride photo shoot, we are doubly excited because it involves some of our favorite Washington DC stylistas. This endeavor was undertaken in the name of publicizing the Tweed Ride and the talents of some of DC’s most creative and fashionable. The shots will be posted on the Dandies & Quaintrelles blog in the coming days.
The principals of the project are Kate Warren, as producer and photographer and Elise Peterson, as lead stylist. The shoot was undertaken with the blessing of Eric Brewer, founder of the Tweed Ride and Dandies & Quaintrelles.
Here is the expanded list of those involved:

Refinery 29 Washington DC Launch party at Madewell

It’s been a transformative year for Washington DC’s creative side - this week we added another notch to our belt with the launch of the Refinery 29 DC edition led by no other than the uber stylish and creative Holly Thomas. DC’s most fashionable and friendly crowd gathered tonight for the official launch party at Madewell in Georgetown. A friend and I looked at each other marveling at all the fashionable attendees passing by and asked “are we really in DC?.” Alas we were, and are so excited to be at the forefront of its transformation.

Here are a few of our pictures from the evening:

We love the contrast of Michelle’s bright pink nail polish against her shoes and her bright magenta lips. Kimee’s outfit is so sensational we had to give it a separate blog post, which you can see here.

Kimee Brown mimics the pose of Karl Lagerfeld on her t-shirt, which is not even out yet (!!!). The T-shirt is Karl Lagerfeld for Impulse - only available at Macy’s starting August 31st. We also love the scarf, red blazer and her JC Shoes (seen Here).
