Uhhh… where do we start? What you see above is 150,000 years old. Yes, from the second to last ice age. This stacked maple wood ring is topped with ivory from the husks of a Blue Wooly Mammoth, you might remember him from your childhood dinosaur books. He is now extinct. This ivory (the rarest and finest of all the fossils) was found buried in the North Sea. If that wasn’t exotic enough, there is also a black diamond embedded in the ivory. And, unlike the composite metal ring you last purchased, this ring will actually appreciate in value due to the scarcity of this ivory, one of the finest in the world. Now available for purchase at Stick & Stones, the digital home to its designers, Stephan Alexander and Benjamin Posin.

A quick visit to Ginger Root Design

We have been following Kristen Swenson ever since we worked with her last year during the Treasury Spring/Summer 2010 show at ReadySetDC’s Fashion:District. Much has changed for her since then. She has teamed up with Erin Derge to found Ginger Root Design, along with ReVamp tailoring. Kristen also found some time in between to get married (Congratulations!).

Ginger Root Design offers their own designs along with vintage fashions and jewelry. ReVamp tailoring is a dynamic tailoring service. They help clients repurpose old clothing or great found vintage into something fresh and new.
