Jamal wearing Aldo boots - we loved the way he styled them, with the tongues turned down and red laces that match the awesome striped socks

The Givenchy Pre Fall 2012 look book really stood out to us. We love how the composition of the photography echos the silhouettes of the clothing: structured, upright and strong. Our favorite element is the boots, with their slightly slouchy shell; they look like uptown elegant riding boots. Other highlights: asymmetric pants, giant bows, pops of color and prints.

Our friends at Columbian clothing brand A New Cross have made a beautiful video showcasing their fall/winter clothing. I love the moody lighting, great special effects and driving baseline. My heart started to race when I glimpsed the model’s shoes; they make such amazing shoes!
If you missed our coverage of the A New Cross fashion presentation you can find it HERE.
The collection is available exclusively at one of our favorite DC stores: Redeem.
When we first talked to Redeem owner Lori Parkerson about the possibilities of her 5 year anniversary party, we imagined bringing many disperate elements of fashionable Washington DC together. This event exceeded our expectations. Our eyes delighted in the individuality and creativity of the party’s attendees. Our minds were stimulated by many conversations of substance and not just style (our favorite was discussing Ukrainian history and French literature with Katya and Cameron). This event was the perfect storm of the right people, the right place and the right time. The icing on the cake was the presentation by A New Cross, which you can view HERE.
Thank you to all our friends, bloggers, and readers who came to celebrate Redeem’s Anniversary with us, to the sponsors Duvel and Honest Tea, and to brothers John and Paul of U.S. Royalty for providing the perfect soundtrack.
Congratulations Lori and Redeem! Cheers to many more successful years!

When we were asked to help host Redeem’s Fifth Year Anniversary party we didn’t hesitate to say yes. We were especially excited when we learned an exclusive collection from Colombian line “A New Cross” would be featured. There is so much to love about the unique designs of Nicolás Rivero and David Angel - the unisex styles, innovative & avant-garde silhouettes and handmade details of the collection are all exceptional (available only at Redeem). I am really looking forward to incorporating all the Fall trends into my outfits this coming season. Some of my favorites are over-the-knee boots, long leather gloves, vintage motorcycle jackets, mens gold watches and over-sized blazers. Somehow Urban Outfitters has managed to have all the perfect items in all those categories. Here is a collage of my favorites.
