Jason Wu for Target

The Jason Wu for Target Collection has classic elements that would go well with vintages pieces. I could also see them given some edge, like the Pleated Skirt in Navy Floral worn with a brown distressed leather bomber jacket. The Sheer Blouse in White with Black Ribbon wouldn’t look out of place on Alexa Chung. Pops of bright color are still welcome to me, like the Pointelle Sweater in Red; I know we are coming out of the color-blocking trend but I still haven’t tired of those brights.

Jean Paul Gaultier for Target

We were able to get our hands on Target’s newly released lookbook for the latest Designer Collaboration - Jean Paul Gaultier. Known as the “bad boy” of fashion, Gaultier who currently designs for Hermes, used the American Woman as his muse and inspiration for this collection. You can clearly see several iconic American styles in the clothes - from rock-and-roll to Southern Belle, this collection might have something for everyone. I love all the florals, the trench coat and the cropped biker jacket. The collection will be available in select stores and online March 7 - April 11, 2010.

These are a few of our favorites.

First look Rodarte for Target

We’ve all been anxiously waiting to see the lookbook of the Mulleavy sisters collaboration with Target and it finally arrived in my mailbox (virtual one) today. I was a little hesitant at first, but once I zoomed in on the high resolution images I really liked all the details. The knit cardigans look lovely and so do all the little sequin dresses.  Prices range from $12.99 for the lace tights, $29.99 for the cardigans and $49.99 for the sequin ribcage dress.  The collection arrives in stores and online on December 20th - right in time for Xmas :)

Target Designer Collaboration

Anna Sui is designing for the next Target Designer Collaborations. She developed this collection based on the looks of “Gossip Girl” heroines, Serena van der Woodsen, Blair Waldorf, Jenny Humphrey and Vanessa Abrams and combined elements of art, spirit, punk and glamour. Some of the looks are a little too friendly for me, but I will hold judgment until I see them in stores. The collection will launch on Target.com and at select Target stores nationwide September 13, 2009, timed to the third season debut of “Gossip Girl.”

Hollywood Intuition for Target

L.A. boutique owner and stylist Jaye Hersh has partnered with Target for the latest accessory collection - Hollywood Intuition. I really like a couple of the pouches, although I’m a little wary about faux leather, it hasn’t worked that well in their previous collections. I’m excited to see it nonetheless, I’ve always liked the accessories at her L.A. boutique. You can judge for yourself, the collection will be in stores this Sunday.

Summer Shells

Felix Rey and I experienced love at first sight a couple years ago when I saw their baby blue sequin bag with a pink sequin heart creation. It’s still one of my favorite bags and I continue to love their quirky designs - so it’s very exciting that Lily Band and Sulaika Zarrouk are doing a bag collection with Target. In stores today!! These are my favorites:

McQueen for All

Oh Target - I thought my Alexander McQueen scarf was going to live alone in my closet - specially since I can’t convince myself that buying a pair of $900 skeleton crystal leggings is a rational purchase. Lucky for me, and you, this March Alexander McQueen’s MCQ collection for Target will be in stores, and the looks which showed up online a couple days ago are even more awesome than the initial previews.

After Christmas Drinks

My favorite thing about the Target designer capsule collections is their element of surprise. How we are kind of in the dark about what they’re going to do next and suddenly you receive an email about them partnering with your favorite designer (I’m still waiting for that day) and it’s kinna like a small Christmas, because now you know the date of release and you wait excitedly for the goodies to arrive to the Christmas-colored store.

I had that giddy feeling when I read that Target had partnered with designers Toni Hacker and Ben Harnett to launch a limited-edition handbag collection, Hayden-Harnett for Target®. I fell inlove with their designs at HH:Design Shop in Brooklyn, their charming little store in which you can find much more than just bags. This is definitely my favorite handbag collection so far, at least in pictures, they look beautiful and so well designed. The bags range from $19.99 to $49.99 and will be available in stores right after Christmas from December 28, 2008 through March 15, 2009.
