So much work has gone into the Spicy Candy DC + South Moon Under Ocean City Look Book it’s hard to imagine the day of the launch party has now come and gone. We could not have possibly imagined a better turnout for the event. A line down the street formed before the doors were opened and clothes were flying off the racks all evening long. Helping the event’s cause was fashion polymath Dani Stahl (Nylon Style Editor-at-Large, Jewelry Designer, and TV star, etc). The energy and optimism at this event was palpable. Thanks to everyone involved!

The LPM 1 Year Anniversary Party (held at Tabaq on U Street) felt like a family reunion. That is if all your relatives were really creative amazing dressers that also brought their stylish friends to the party. There were already plenty of crazy memories to talk about, remember that photo shoot on H Street NE?!
We met Katherine Martinez, the founder of La Petite Marmoset, last October - just as she was ramping up her reconstructed vintage business. Now a few months later she has a business partner and co-creative director in Ashley Thomas (possibly the sweetest person to ever walk the earth), a pack of beautiful models that enthusiastically wear her clothes, and adoring fans. Still this is only the beginning; LPM just launched their new website LaPetiteMarmoset.com. We look forward to another year of La Petite Marmoset and are excited for future collaborations!
Congratulations to Katherine Martinez and Ashley Thomas of LPM for 1 year in business!

Life without CapFABB in Washington DC is a distant memory. The one year anniversary party was a surprise because it felt like so much time had passed since we attended our first CapFABB event. I suppose DC style is now aging in dog years: as a group we have come light years from where we were just one year ago and CapFABB deserves considerable credit.
This event, sponsored by flower service H.BLOOM, and hosted by Cities Restaurant & Lounge was the most enjoyable event to datefas. Much of the fun should be attributed to the lethal (to fashion bloggers) combination of excellent cocktails, a make-your-own-arrangement flower bar, and a photo booth with instant print photos. Happy anniversary CapFABB!
Our photos from last night:

It’s been a transformative year for Washington DC’s creative side - this week we added another notch to our belt with the launch of the Refinery 29 DC edition led by no other than the uber stylish and creative Holly Thomas. DC’s most fashionable and friendly crowd gathered tonight for the official launch party at Madewell in Georgetown. A friend and I looked at each other marveling at all the fashionable attendees passing by and asked “are we really in DC?.” Alas we were, and are so excited to be at the forefront of its transformation.
Here are a few of our pictures from the evening:
