The WW Club: A DC Style Speakeasy
Two of the hardest working ladies in DC style (and 2 of our favorites), Kate Warren of Go Kate Shoot fame and Elise Peterson of It’s Vintage Darling are throwing a celebration of men’s style and all that surrounds it this Thursday, April 26th, at The Water Street Project.
The WW Club includes whiskey tasting, burlesque, and a performance art piece by Quincy Jones and Prepster Punk. We’re excited to see what Quincy is up to - we love his style and work on events past.
Partners in this event are Jack Spade, Alton Lane and Hugh & Crye, plus Federal, Accoutre, Dr. K’s Vintage, It’s Vintage Darling, The Good Kin and Ginger Root Design.
Tickets are available on The WW Club event page: HERE Keep updated on the event with The WW Club Facebook event page: HERE

Hugh & Crye open house

Last saturday we attended the Hugh & Crye open house in their new Georgetown space. Hidden from the street, steps away from the corner of Wisconsin Avenue and O Street, the space is bright (due to large skylights), open and calming; The perfect place to focus on their shirts.

If you don’t already know, Hugh & Crye sells shirts intended to fit the wearer. This is in extreme contrast to the style you see many wearing in Washington DC, huge baggy shirts that may snag on passing objects. To this end, H&C’s shirts use a different sizing method than a typical off the rack shirt. To learn more about their sizing click HERE.

We are very excited for Hugh & Crye, not only do they have a great new space but also great ideas for future designs. The expansion into plaids is notable because that is the type of men’s shirt we want to wear right now. We also believe their Georgetown location will receive increasing foot traffic as word gets around DC.

My favorite kind of dress shirt: slim with a button collar. From DC shirtmaker, and now tie maker, Hugh & Crye, as seen at their pop-up shop at Vitamin Water Uncapped Live.

Hugh & Crye

One of the best runway shows at this season’s fashion:district, Hugh & Crye, is an up and coming men’s wear brand based in Washington, DC. The company’s identity centers around the innovative concept of offering different fits for each shirt size they carry. That same attention to detail was applied to their runway show. Each model showcased a different way to wear their shirts, from jeans and a leather jacket to a full-on suit. We hope that Hugh & Crye’s crusade to introduce DC to “shirts that fit” is felt from Capitol Hill to Georgetown; it would go a long way towards making our city more stylish.
