Butler + Claypool Pop-Up Shop at Ginger Root Design

This past Saturday we attended another successful Butler + Claypool pop-up, this time in the newly-renovated upstairs of Ginger Root Design. Nothing is more encouraging and inspiring to us than the continued success of creative businesses in Washington DC; Butler + Claypool recently completed their appointment-only showroom in Capitol Hill and Ginger Root Design is expanding their booming tailoring business (and making more room for their similarly booming retail business downstairs).

Here’s our photos from the pop-up:

Holly Thomas of Butler + Claypool is also the Washington DC Editor of Refinery 29 and one of our favorite people:

We absolutely loved Holly’s handmade shell-casing and coral necklace (we hear B+C might have more of these in stock soon):

Old Friends and Style Moments at The WW Club

Last night Kate Warren of Go Kate Shoot and Elise Peterson of It’s Vintage Darling threw a great party at The Water Street Project. Live music (salsa!), performances, and great drinks. We were delighted to see so many friends!

Spicy Candy DC + South Moon Under Ocean City Lookbook Launch Party

So much work has gone into the Spicy Candy DC + South Moon Under Ocean City Look Book it’s hard to imagine the day of the launch party has now come and gone. We could not have possibly imagined a better turnout for the event. A line down the street formed before the doors were opened and clothes were flying off the racks all evening long. Helping the event’s cause was fashion polymath Dani Stahl (Nylon Style Editor-at-Large, Jewelry Designer, and TV star, etc). The energy and optimism at this event was palpable.  Thanks to everyone involved!

CapFABB Meetup at Madewell

Being a fashion blogger can be a lonely and discouraging hobby. You take pictures of yourself, agonize over logos, social media, etc and then wonder if anyone is actually reading. Unless you live in or near DC… Then you have CapFABB, where you can attend one meetup and suddenly have 50 like-minded friends.

While we have attended enough of these to know many of the attendees, we always find a surprise at each event. Elizabeth and Lacey do a great job organizing these events and everyone else does a great job of being social and supportive. This time was no different.

Our pictures:

Spicy Candy DC 2 Year Anniversary Brunch

Spicy Candy DC’s two year anniversary brunch was a testament to Carlis and Katya’s infectious energy. The long dining table in the basement of El Centro was filled with some of DC’s most successful fashion bloggers, magazine editors and clothing store owners. We find it as no surprise that everyone wants to be around them.

The brunch also represented the formal launch of Spicy Candy DC’s new look. Now slick and sophisticated, the ladies are even better prepared to tackle their growing list of collaborations. If you own a fashion business in DC, you should probably contact them.

Congratulations Spicy Candy DC you deserve your success!

Cheralee Lyle, aside from being beautiful and sweet, is an amazing addition to the Washington DC fashion blogger community (all the way from South Africa). Her blog Lyle Style is already one of the best in the city. Welcome to DC Cheralee!
