Céline Spring/Resort 2012 Trunk Show at Hu's Wear
Not many fashion houses are able to instill a frenzied cult following quite like the French house of Céline. The beauty is in the simplicity, craftsmanship, and uber-chic execution – a combination that ensures covet-ability and emptied-out boutiques. All orchestrated by the talented Phoebe Philo.
Last weekend we had the opportunity to see the Céline Spring/Resort 2012 trunk show at Hu’s Wear. I...

Ginger Root Design - Tailoring & Design Studio...
Our second visit to Ginger Root Design in the past week was an eye-opening and exhilarating experience. Though talented owners Kristen Swenson and Erin Derge have been tailoring and designing clothes from the English basement of 1530 U Street for awhile now, the opening of their dedicated tailoring and design studio on the second floor of the same building represents a significant step, not only...

Butler + Claypool Pop-Up Shop at Ginger Root...
This past Saturday we attended another successful Butler + Claypool pop-up, this time in the newly-renovated upstairs of Ginger Root Design. Nothing is more encouraging and inspiring to us than the continued success of creative businesses in Washington DC; Butler + Claypool recently completed their appointment-only showroom in Capitol Hill and Ginger Root Design is expanding their booming...

Old Friends and Style Moments at The WW Club
Last night Kate Warren of Go Kate Shoot and Elise Peterson of It’s Vintage Darling threw a great party at The Water Street Project. Live music (salsa!), performances, and great drinks. We were delighted to see so many friends!
Our photos:

We missed Kimee’s style and were so happy to be reunited:

Yigal Azrouël Spring 2012 Preview at Hu's Wear
Effortlessly chic are the first words that come to mind when I think of Yigal Azrouël’s designs. The strategically placed colors, draping, and silhouettes he’s become known for are the same ones that made me a fan of his line a few years ago. Fittingly, I smiled with glee when I was invited to preview his Spring 2012 collection and get a chance to chat with him at Hu’s Wear.

The Water Street Project
Outside The Water Street Project the temperature was 68 degrees, inside was another story. Yes the crowds added copious body heat to the venue, but it felt like the energy and optimism of the night added a few extra degrees. Growing up in the Washington DC area, events like this simply did not exist. We plan on never taking them for granted!
If you missed the grand opening last night don’t...

Yigal Azrouël at Hu's Wear
We have long admired the sleek simplistic yet elegant and utilitarian designs of Yigal Azrouël. The opportunity to meet the Israeli-born (but NYC based) designer and see designs from his Spring 2012 collection can’t be missed. Even better, this is happening in the chic environs of Hu’s Wear, one of our favorite stores in Washington DC.
Hosted by Kelly Doolan and Fashion Washington,...

TPWP Interviews Brad Goreski
Since Brad Goreski appeared on The Rachel Zoe Project, he has been one of our favorite fashion personalities on television. As was obvious to us from the beginning, he was destined for bigger things than simply stylist’s assistant. Now, he runs his own styling business and stars in his own show It’s a Brad, Brad World. So when the opportunity to interview him during his book tour for...

Spicy Candy DC + South Moon Under Ocean City...
So much work has gone into the Spicy Candy DC + South Moon Under Ocean City Look Book it’s hard to imagine the day of the launch party has now come and gone. We could not have possibly imagined a better turnout for the event. A line down the street formed before the doors were opened and clothes were flying off the racks all evening long. Helping the event’s cause was fashion polymath...

La Petite Marmoset Super Mercado Lookbook April...
The craziest ideas are typically hatched when we sit down to eat with Katherine Martinez of La Petite Marmoset Vintage. Last time it was glitter. This time we dreamed up the idea of a photo shoot in a Latin supermarket. Leave it to Katherine to email us days later with “I couldn’t stop thinking about it and I decided to schedule a mini shoot…. Let me know if you are...

Redeem + Mutiny Pioneer Launch Party
Lori Parkerson, the owner of Redeem, knows how to put together interesting events. The previous Redeem event still lingers in our heads as one of the best events we’ve ever attended in Washington DC; The Redeem + Mutiny Pioneer launch event was just as good.
Mutiny is a curated grouping of objects (typically vintage or antique but not always) around a theme, by local artist M. Gert...

Spicy Candy DC + South Moon Under Ocean City...
Photographed in Ocean City, MD with Carlis Alejandra Sanchez and Katya Ananieva of Spicy Candy DC for South Moon Under. This collaboration is an exciting milestone for the style-blogging scene in Washington DC. To my knowledge, this collaboration is the first time a retail chain has contracted a DC based style blogger to create a lookbook. We commend the foresight of South Moon Under for taking...

The President Wears Prada for Northern Virginia...
Way back in January we photographed a feature for Northern Virginia Magazine. The photo shoot was planned with a Spring theme in mind, which lead us to choose a farm near Middleburg, Virginia as the setting. We were counting on evergreen trees and a so-far extremely mild winter to aid us in our simulation of Spring. In true chaotic photo shoot fashion, the only day of snow accumulation this winter...

Kate Moss by Tim Walker in the April 2012 Vogue
Tim Walker is my absolute favorite fashion photographer. In my mind, he is the best ever. His photos are always dramatic, otherworldly, and tell a story. They are also achingly beautiful. I aspire to the heights he has achieved.
The April 2012 Vogue spread of Kate Moss by Tim Walker is some of his best work.
Kate Moss + the Ritz Paris * Tim Walker = Magic:
